This is a deck that will replace the weakest link in your current audio system and protect your investment in music cassettes for years to come.The DC520's most salient feature has to be its sound and at a time when CD and minidisc are coupling to inch the poor old cassette off the playing field that's saying a lot! The fact is though we all have boxes of old tapes lying around that we just can't bear to part with and the DC520 makes it fun to dig them out and give 'em another pull across the tape heads. Tapes that are 15 years old - rife with dropouts and fading signals - came to life again in the wells of this deck. The DC520 brings a stability and warble-free confidence to the playback that other cassette decks (to say nothing of boomboxes) can't seem to muster.Other functions include high-speed dubbing record mute (which inserts a four-second pause during recording) and a feature called Sync Reverse which uses auto-reverse to intelligently manage tape copying with tapes of unequal length. If the playback tape is longer the tape being recorded will end up missing the ends of each side. If the record tape is longer the DC520 will wait until the record tape winds to the end of its first side before starting in on the second side of the playback cassette.

Tried and true the Compact Cassette remains the most popular recording medium ever. For making exceptional recordings simply and quickly the CTW205R is an excellent choice. With Dolby B & C noise Reduction double auto-reverse transport and full logic IC controls and Music Search this deck has the most requested features.Both cassette decks have auto reverse mechanisms allowing for long-term listening and recording capabilities. Select from several modes of playback - choose to play back all of tape A (both sides) then all of tape B (both sides) or play the front side of tape A then the front side of tape B then play the back side of each tape. Or just use standard continuous play-load two cassettes into the unit and select Play on each deck. When tape A finishes and shuts off tape B will begin to play allowing for uninterrupted listening. Dolby B & C Noise Reduction greatly reduces irritating tape hiss while increasing dynamic range on Dolby B or Dolby C encoded cassettes. Dolby B reduces noise by approximately 10 dB while Dolby C reduces hiss by a whopping 20 dB. Full-Logic Tape Transport provides electronic rather than mechanical control of the drive system of the cassette deck. It delivers more reliability smoother operation and quicker one-touch control. To fast forward a cassette that is playing simply touch the fast forward button then touch the play button when you desire. On mechanical transports you would have to stop the tape press fast-forward press stop then press play. Metal Tape Capability provides optimum playback calibration with both normal bias tapes as well as high-bias and metal-position cassettes. Music Search allows you to fast forward or rewind the cassette up to 15 cuts for quick access to the songs you're looking for.
